During 2026 there will be a growing theme of independence. It begins right at the start of the year with a drive to follow your heart and spend your time doing more of what you want to do. This could at times come across to others as a little self-centred, but be cautious of feeling guilty about doing things your way because the celestial picture is quite clear in its intent for you this year: to be true to yourself but to also be your own authority and stand on your own two feet. If you are in any way embroiled with or dependent on another person this could be tricky, because it may become clear at some point that you can’t rely on them, either financially or emotionally. Perhaps a source of income is cut off from you or you may request financial assistance but it’s not forthcoming. The same may apply to banks and other financial institutions – it’s going to be harder to get others to give you want you want, prop you up or help you out. Whilst this may seem unfair, you can look at it one of two ways: you can either take the spiritual approach and acknowledge that the karmic books are being balanced, either from this lifetime or another, or that it may be necessary and timely for you to invest in yourself and to learn the value of being independent. Saturn and Neptune’s conjunction in your zone of shared resources is likely to either bring up a drawbridge or plunge you into very muddy waters, where financial or emotional misunderstandings, confusion and deception are the pitfalls. This is a year when you need to have your wits about you, financially speaking, and to live by the motto, ‘neither a borrower nor a lender be.’ Be careful when it comes to boundaries as you could easily be the victim of a con artist, and this could include people who are close to you who have devious motivations. Because of this unsettling influence you may have to experience a disappointment when it comes to other people and money, but it will teach you an important lesson. This could be a lesson about putting the correct value on money – being neither overly attached nor undervaluing it. Or it could be the need to be more streetwise and mature. Or the situation could be teaching you not lean on others for your financial or emotional security. The arrival of Uranus in your success zone is further testimony to the need to move towards greater independence, as this is a transit that speaks of new directions that resonate with your soul’s path. This is a transit that will enable you to break free from the ties of the past and forge a new future that feels so much more inspiring and energising. This could manifest as a change in direction, a new job, a different vocation or a new life that is radically different from your past. And once you get going on this new trajectory you should find that the universe steps in to support you, financially and otherwise. So there really is no need to languish in a victim mentality because there is so much potential waiting for you to step into. Perhaps a good philosophy this year would be to puff out your chest, preen your feathers and say I can take care of myself thanks very much, and then start acting as though you’re not a victim but a creator. This is where your power lies this year. But don’t make the mistake of thinking you have to go it alone; on the contrary, Jupiter in your social zone for the first six months will bring help and support when you need it, largely in the form of friends, acquaintances and contacts who can help connect you with the right people and get you to where you need to be. There will be plenty of people who will be cheering you on this year and it’s these people that you need to welcome into your fold. The best manifestation of Jupiter here would be that you find your tribe and become part of a group or endeavour that shares your vision. The second half of the year sees Jupiter bringing support from the invisible realms, through synchronicities, divine guidance and heavenly interventions.

So there’s plenty to look forward to this year, provided you can stay away from a victim mentality and take care of your health and wellbeing. If you can do that you should find yourself heading down a new road that pulls you right out of your comfort zone, but which glitters with exciting new possibilities.
