“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” - The Wizard of Oz

2026 is going to be a year in which you need to be careful who and what you give your attention to; whether you choose to focus on the positive aspects of your life or whether you allow the darker elements to take hold. There may be times when it feels like something behind the scenes is at work, pulling on your strings or manipulating events. In truth, this is unlikely to be an external dark force – although this may need to be considered – but more likely it’s an external manifestation of that which is going on at a subconscious level. This is largely due to Pluto’s transit through your underworld zone which is bound to bring a degree of intensity to your emotional world. At the same time, Uranus arrives in your unconscious zone in April, which is akin to a madman rummaging around in your psychological basement. You may have had glimpses during 2025 of what this cathartic duo in your most sensitive regions are up to. Perhaps there were moments of darkness. Maybe you began noticing the contents of your dreams were a little more intense or unnerving. Perhaps you found yourself having strange thoughts or tourettes style random thoughts or words appearing in your head. We all want certain contents of our mind to remain private but with Uranus at work there could be some uncomfortable or awkward moments as your inner landscape becomes more visible. Working with a therapist would be a constructive way of dealing with any unconscious material that wants to make its way up to the surface, particularly if it’s causing you problems. Keeping a dream journal and noticing the patterns and themes would also be useful. Using art to express your feelings would be another way of expressing and integrating your shadows, whilst tarot cards could bring a deeper insight into where you’re at on your journey. However, what you need to remember is this that the emergence of dark material is a natural and healthy process, indicating that your soul is ready to purge itself of all past traumas and emotional blockages. The good news therefore, is that in 2026 you stand on the brink of a spiritual awakening so don’t pay too much attention to whatever dark stuff comes up. Let the tears flow, let the bad dreams appear, allow the compulsions, obsessions, fears and anxieties to be there;  just don’t give them more attention than they warrant, or ruminate on it all afterwards. Allow your emotions to come and then get on with your life. And there will certainly be plenty to get on with in 2026. Saturn and Neptune will return to your career and direction zone in February, signalling that the process of change is underway. This is an odd combination requiring both planning and surrender, control and trust, effort and ease to steer you in the right direction. Perhaps you need to allow a particular structure in your life to dissolve whilst you plan and create a new pathway. Maybe you need to have a destination in mind and take steps towards getting there, whilst at the same time being adaptable if the universe sends you on a diversion. Maybe there will be a disappointment alongside a pleasant surprise. In short, as far as your work and your future are concerned you need to hold a vision but be flexible in how it manifests. If you see the best of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in your success zone you will have the opportunity to manifest your dream job or witness a glorious future beginning to take shape.

Jupiter meanwhile, spends the first half of the year in your sign, which is further good news, promising a certain level of protection, good fortune and opportunities for growth. For the second half of the year he will move on to boost your finances, bringing blessings and abundance and the very real likelihood of some sort of monetary increase.  This should mean that you have nothing to worry about financially, and if you put the effort in with your work, this too should begin to take a positive shape.

So pay little attention to the crazy man behind the curtain; let him get on with whatever he needs to do. He will aid you in your spiritual awakening but the process will be quicker and easier if you don’t get distracted by him, or become lost in underground labyrinths. The real work is in the outside world, so focus on your direction and your future, your vocation, work and your finances. Utilise your talents and abilities and follow the possibilities that will enable you to grow. This is where your rewards will be found, and provided you can keep your focus on the destination and not be distracted by devils in disguise, you will end the year in a more successful position than when you began.
